Samir Hodžić received his Ph.D. degree in cryptology from the University of Primorska, FAMNIT, Koper, Slovenia, in 2017. In 2019-2020, he has been with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) as a postdoctoral researcher. He is currently an assistant proffesor and researcher on UP FAMNIT.

His research area is mainly symmetric-key cryptographic primitives, in particular, the design of cryptographic Boolean functions, and (post-quantum) cryptanalysis of block ciphers.
